RFIs are a crucial communication tool in construction, allowing for clarification and information exchange between project stakeholders. Structur provides a dedicated RFI management system to streamline this process.
To access RFIs, navigate to the Project Management section in your Structur dashboard and click on the "RFIs" tab.
Creating a New RFI
Click "New RFI."
Give the RFI a clear and concise title.
Fill out the RFI details:
Sender: Identify who is submitting the RFI.
Ball-in-Court: By default, the recipient will be the first to possess the ball-in-court.
Due Date: Set a deadline for a response.
Recipient: Select the client or vendor to whom the RFI is directed. (You can also add new clients or vendors directly from this field.)
Provide a detailed description of your request, including any specific questions or concerns.
Attach supporting documents for clarification, such as drawings or specifications.
Click "Send RFI."
Tracking Responses and Responsibility
Response History: All responses to the RFI are recorded and stored within the RFI record for future reference.
Ball-in-Court Tracking: The "Ball-in-Court" field dynamically updates to reflect who is currently responsible for taking action on the RFI. This ensures clear accountability throughout the process.
Closing RFIs: Once the RFI has been resolved, you can mark it as closed.
Structur's RFI management system helps you maintain organized communication, track responses effectively, and ensure timely resolution of project inquiries.
