Ballparks is a valuable tool in Structur that allows you to quickly generate rough estimates for potential projects. This can be helpful for qualifying leads, gauging project feasibility, and providing clients with preliminary cost expectations.
This article will guide you through the process of creating and managing Ballparks in Structur.
Accessing Ballparks
To access Ballparks, navigate to the Leads section in your Structur dashboard.
Ballpark Settings
Before creating a Ballpark, it's recommended to review your Ballpark settings. Here you can:
Add or Edit Groups: Customize the cost groups that will be included in your Ballparks.
Adjust Cost per Square Foot: Modify the default cost per square foot for each group based on your historical project data and local market conditions.
Manage Project Types: Create and manage different project types (e.g., Commercial Ground-up, Commercial Renovation) to tailor your Ballparks to specific project categories.
Creating a New Ballpark
Click "New Ballpark."
Enter the project square footage.
Select the project type. This will determine which cost groups are included in the Ballpark.
Rate the complexity of each cost group. Choose from options like Simple, Intermediate, or Advanced. This will influence the calculated cost for each group.
Review and adjust the cost per square foot for each group. Ensure the values align with your historical data and current market prices.
Add markup (optional). You can add a markup percentage to the overall Ballpark estimate.
Review the estimated price range. Ballparks provides a range of 90% to 110% of the calculated estimate to give you flexibility in client discussions.
Viewing and Managing Ballparks
You can view your Ballparks in either list view or grid view.
You can create multiple Ballparks for a single project.
Ballparks are also accessible from the Projects section, allowing you to view and manage them alongside your project details.
Important Notes
Ballparks are designed to provide rough estimates, not precise quotes.
The accuracy of your Ballparks depends on the quality of your historical cost data and how accurately you assess the complexity of each cost group.
By effectively utilizing Ballparks, you can streamline your lead qualification process, set realistic expectations with clients, and make informed decisions about which projects to pursue.
